Our Origin Story
Tony Keane and Dave Litten go way back to our twenties – two professional engineers who loved creating products and making music. We often disagree but never argue.
Most strange.
Life, careers (and loves) drove us in different directions over the years, but we always stayed in touch. We shared a common passion – designing and building music synthesizers!
Fast-forward to 2015, and we met up again when Tony was travelling in Europe, and re-ignited our passion for engineering, and music synthesizers in particular.
We both reasoned that the current market for "diy synthesizers" was stale and just copying legacy products from the 1970s.
So, we set to work envisioning new features, particularly those that would make the synthesizer "live performer friendly"
This took us much longer than we thought, yet turned out to be better than we could have ever imagined!
Our company, Keatten LLC was founded to meet two objectives:
Who Are We?
I'm Dave Litten, certainly an Analog Man (tip my hat to Joe Walsh) a mix between analog design, musician, and product creator.
Tony is an extremely talented mixture of Software/Hardware and Mechanical Engineer without whose incredible expertise, vision, work ethic and tenacity, Keatten Kits would never have got off the ground. He's also a darned nice guy to work and socialize with ...
What Was Our Journey?
We have certainly evolved and spent the first 12 months brainstorming potential products and how they could be engineered. Ultimately, around 8 months ago we realized that we must design, develop and launch something!
It was time for action ...
That’s when we bumped into the "Elon Factor". That's right, creating a product is reasonably straightforward. The challenges were manufacturing, supply agreements, logistics and distribution.
But we have now got everything in place for the launch of our very first product (along with several amazing partly designed products waiting in the wings)...
Both Tony and I would be delighted to welcome you as a customer!
